The Challenge

In 2018 Jowat Corporation, US implemented SAP Plant Maintenance with the intent to provide a single environment where visibility would be provided for all maintenance activities which at the time were performed outside of SAP. This included inventory control, cost, and work order allocation/processing by the maintenance department.

SAP Plant Maintenance provided the visibility needed with regards to inventory control, Work allocation based on functional areas and cost analysis that was needed. At the same time, SAP introduced the complexity of paper trail and not so user-friendly SAP screens when it came to maintenance order processing. The previous process via paperwork diminished the confidence of the maintenance technicians and increased the time to record confirmations back into SAP.

Key Challenges:

• Low build confidence across the maintenance department and maintenance technicians to perform/record maintenance activities in SAP.
• Due to paper trails, there were long wait times to see work orders being confirmed and processed.
• Lack of an audit trail for work performed in maintenance activities.

This complexity lead Jowat to investigate possible solutions that could simplify the work order processing and eliminate all paper trail by replacing the same with a simple mobile solution.

 

The Delivery

AG’s Objective was to complete a fully remote Asset Manager implementation, including screen customisations into Jowat’s SAP system. AG’s Award-Winning expertise and service provides both speed and quality managing the full end to end service from, deciding the technical components of the SAP landscape, implementation of the solution and providing hyper care and post go-live support with monitoring and trouble shooting.

AG was committed to successfully completing the EAM implementation ahead of schedule in 11 weeks and also could provide post-implementation support for the next 3 months in the pilot phase so that Jowat can roll out the implementations across all of its sites worldwide.
